Final Round of the Tasmanian Rally Series
Sat 23rd September 20

The 2006 Tasmanian Rally Series will have it’s exciting finale at the Auspine Scottsdale Rally, which will be conducted on Saturday 23rd September. The Motor Sports Club of Tasmania will be organising the rally, and will once again be using the forests surrounding Mt Horror near Scottsdale, between Oxberry Road and the Tasman Highway.

The rally will start and finish at the Scottsdale Football Rooms in George Street, Scottsdale. The first car will depart the start line at 9am with the remaining field starting at one-minute intervals. The cars are expected to finish from 4:30pm.

There will be two spectator points during the event and spectator guides are available at various shops and service stations around Scottsdale.

The last 4 rounds of the Series have been fast and furious and consequently the Outright and 2WD Category Titles are still up for grabs.

Leading the way in the outright class is the Hobart based crew of David Waldon and Ross Ferguson in the newly re-shelled e-Home Subaru WRX. Chasing them and only 10 points behind is Burnie’s Craig Brooks and Adrian Hodgetts also in a WRX, and backed by Total Alarm Services. Brooks has won the last 2 Auspine Scottsdale rallies and would dearly like to make it three in a row and take the title at the same time.

The action is even hotter in the 2WD category with two Holden Commodores going head-to-head. Hobart’s Craig Sault and Scott Creswell are a tiny 8 points ahead of Smithton’s Nick Kingston and Ben Korpershoek – it’s still anyone’s title there.
