Bridestowe Estate Lavender Farm

Bridestowe Estate is the largest and oldest Lavender plantation in the southern hemisphere.
With bees buzzing, a chorus of birds, the lazy sounds of the summer, the vast shimmering expanse of purple flowers during December and January. Bridestowe is a glorious display of nature’s sensual delights. Picnic under the century old oak trees, join a guided tour of the lavender oil distillery, or simply browse in our gift shop and enjoy something to eat and drink.

The Bridestowe Estate Lavender Farm ( established in 1922) is renowned the world over for the quality of its true perfumery lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), developed with rigorous technical and botanical research.
This research has produced a lavender flower with a purity of perfume that is highly valued in the traditional perfumery industry, aromatherapy and therapeutic fields. It is the negligible ‘camphor’ content and unique balance of the many other components of our lavender flowers that also make Bridestowe lavender perfect for culinary purposes.

Bridestowe Estate is resplendent in all seasons; a rich emerald green with new growth in spring, a vision of vibrant shimmering purple in summer, and a picture of sleeping silver hues in winter.
Experience part of Tasmania’s heritage and a true Tasmanian story of excellence…. Very special at any time of the year.

Nestled between mountain and sea, Bridestowe Estate is located just 52 kms from Launceston on a fully sealed road (B81), ideally placed to further explore the stunning North East, on the cusp of the Tamar Valley and the East Tamar Wine Route, on the way to St Helens and the east coast.
