St. Helens offers wonderful saltwater fishing opportunities with locals and visitors able to take advantage of clean waters, very good facilities from the jetties to the beach to first class charter boat operators.

Gamefishing starts in December and goes through until May, albacore tuna are prolific and yellowfin tuna are a regular catch. (albacore tuna, yellowfin tuna, bluefin tuna, striped marlin, mako shark)
Deep-sea and reef fishing are all year round.(species such as Deep-sea trevalla, hapuka, striped trumpeter)

Georges Bay offer varied types of fishing such as bream, garfish, australian salmon
Scamander River also offers great bream fishing.
