We
realize that when people are travelling these days they require many extra
services that are not easily found.
John and Jill Filby are very experienced travellers and know full well
the extras that one requires while on holidays. John and Jill have endeavoured
to expand the East Coast experience by developing a full service to clients
who stay at the Headmasters House.
To begin with the old house has been totally restored and refurbished
with beautiful antique furniture, one of the main features of the accommodation
being a luxurious antique French bed and bedroom suit. Dine on a beautiful
antique French dining table in front of a cosy fire of an evening. There
are three double rooms, one with its own ensuite.
Centrally located in St.Helens, close to all shops and walking distance
to the foreshore. The Filbys are happy to act as a personal guide for
the area and will help to make sure that you have a complete Tasmanian
experience by giving you directions to all the major tourist destinations
such as St.Columba
Falls. Day trips to Pyengana
Cheese Factory. Also to the amazing Bay
of Fires, Binalong Bay. There are many places to visit during your
stay and the Headmasters House has been designed for you to gain maximum
benefit from your holiday on the East Coast of Tasmania.
The day begins with a full breakfast which is supplied with the accommodation
featuring "compote of fruit" being from the local harvest of berries
grown in the area, locally produced bratworst sausages, cured ham and farmhouse
eggs, served with croissants & local jams.

Although we do not cater for the evening meal, advice on where to eat
is given out freely to our customers but many choose to purchase crayfish
or from a bevy of local seafood giants, trevalla, stripy trumpeter, deep
sea ling and facilities are available to cook up a seafood feast,
helped along with John's local knowledge and seafood cooking skills.
It is planned to build a beautiful barbeque area in the near future to
enable our clients to have an evening barbeque and rest on the back verandah
sipping
a bottle of the local wine and surrounded by the quiet tranquility
of the Headmasters House.
